The Ingredients (“The Why”)

In 2022, I was informed for the first time ever that I had fibroids. This came as a huge shock to me and after diving into loads of research and family history, everything started to point to one thing - the products and relaxers I used were toxic. After that I began looking behind the label of every single bottle, every personal care product to understand what I was actually absorbing and found that it was a lot of harmful, endocrine-disrupting chemicals.

Every beauty supply store I found was stocked to the brim with toxic chemicals. So, that's when my new business endeavor, Sweet Tea's Beauty Supply was born - a family nickname for my mother.

Since that revelation in 2022, the idea has begun to dig roots by listening to what we need in a beauty supply store. I am starting with an online community of shared beauty routines and stories on @sweetteasbeautysupply.la on IG and a real-time look at my journey as a beauty supply owner on Youtube including some collaborative events between now and the opening of the in-person suite in Spring 2026. Our suite will have your all-time favorite with clean alternatives and in-suite education to help consumers make informed choices about their beauty products.

Sweet Tea's Beauty doesn't exist as only the physical store or a few pop-up events, it lives everyday online through our immersive, familial storytelling. I was originally trying to shy away from my work history being in film and not entrepreneurship but I've decided to lean on it. It's what makes Sweet Tea's Beauty special to me and for you, too.
